Display and PCB
Glue the PCB to the display and connect the display cable.
Use the matching alignment fixture. The OpenPaper 7 fixture is in the hardware repository.
- Put the display face-down in the fixture. Check the connector direction.
- Add the pull tab. Keep it away from the red corner of the display tape.
- Add two adhesive strips with a small overhang.
- Remove the liners and lower the PCB into the fixture.
- Press the PCB down lightly.
- Push the flex cable straight into the connector.
- Check that the alignment marks form one straight line.
- Fold the connector lock down.
Be gentle
Do not press on the active display area or bend the flex cable. Store finished modules separately instead of stacking them.
Before moving on, check that the PCB is straight, the connector is locked, the pull tab is reachable, and no tape sticks into the visible area.
